OK, now I think I'm seeing the whole purpose behind this thread. Thanks for setting me straight.
So, is the consenus then that it's OK to use "Save for Web" as the final step in preparing to post an image to the web, with resizing and sharpening done in the parent image editor?

If anyone has the time or inclination, maybe they could summarise the above posts with a 'recommendation' on 'best practice'. As yet I don't use a 'site' for uploading, I simply do 'all' in PSE8, convert to jpg from RAW if shot is in RAW, resize jpg, sharpen and upload. The downside of course is that my pics can only be viewed at the max 700px size.
