    Gaurdians of the wine cellar

I wasn't sure where to post these but decided they sort of fit in to this section more than People and Pets Gaurdians of the wine cellar

These statues are the guardians of the wine at Amisfield Wineries in New Zealand. I couldn't resist making the images, whilst my companions were tasting and buying wines .

Glad to know that the precious wine is being carefully guarded.

Great image(s)! Have you thought about B&W?

Nah. I've got my priorities in line. When I'm enjoying wine, everything else comes at a very distance second...including photography.

Thanks Jack, I hadn't thought of B&W, should I with these images?

For me, the color is important because I'm not used to seeing sculptures especially of human figures that have this color. If their color has no particular appeal for you perhaps because you're used to seeing it, then, yes, the last two images would be good candidates for a monochrome treatment.

Peter, I was thinking #1 might look good in B&W; the receding lines and texture of the stone wall I think all would look good in B&W.

Mike, if you're ever in the UK you need to go to Crosby Beach on the NW coast of England - there are 100 figures this colour there, most of which get covered to some degree twice a day with the tide.

Peter - they're great shots. The statue's expressions are wonderful and you've captured them beautifully. I hope you didn't miss out on all the wine..................

Hi Peter. I agree with Jack about converting #1 to B&W for the same reasons. In addition, IMO blue sky doesn't fit this image very much and it would look better in B&W.

Sorry for submitting my reply without completing my comments I like the images in overall. The colours and texture in the faces are very nice. IMO #3 needs rotating a little bit clockwise and centering

What are they made of? They look to be iron. Very nice images and very nice sculpture. I really like the color and texture.

Thanks for all of your comments, much appreciated. To indulge the Black and White fans on here I've had a play with one of the images.
How does this work, please feel free to have a tweak if you wish.

John I didn't ask, but... to me they looked like cast iron

Hi Peter, I think B&W doesn't suit the head shots very much because nice colours and textures are really make these images. But #1 might be suitable for B&W
