Very good Brian. I spent an hour shooting one of these the other night and with all my fancy gear all the results were any good for was feeding the recycle bin.

I had a fair number of those myself. I used F/8 and concentrated on getting the focus right. I got more than a little lucky with this shot. There is one single bright yellow stamen(?) between the 5 semi fuzzy whatever they are things. I added just a touch of extra sharpening to it.

I hope I say this without too much ego? I am truly amazed at how a small increase in my skills makes such a massive improvement in what my camera can capture. This may be camera blasphemy but I am beginning to believe that unless I get a specialty niche desire that I will keep my camera till it breaks.

    Brian,
You taught me something, a different way of cheating. Not that it is a bad thing, no it is something I have to thank you for.
You keep referring to “selective sharpening”, I did not know I could do it in ACDSee. Well, you showed me how to, THANKS Brian.

You are more than welcome. I do find it a helpful cheat on occasion.

That's how it should be, just don't beat yourself up when you are faced with a new challenge that seems to take you back to square one.
