    Spring morning at the Zoo

This last weekend we had some nice overcast days, thanks to spring storms. The eminent storms kept the crowds low and allowed for a nice day at the local Zoo. I hope you enjoy viewing as much as I did taking these. C&C welcome.

Nice set Bryan! Zoo images are difficult to get as good as these are. Well done!

What Greg said plus the animals have character. I especially like the 1st one of the tiger - he's lurking & aware. so that's what a chipmunk looks like. Thanks

Very nice set, BJ...I like the tiger #1 too. I used to like chipmunks before I came to live here in the US....

Personally, Bryan, I would crop slightly tighter; possibly with a different size ratio, to remove some of the distracting out of focus background.

The main subjects are fine, with good focus and exposure.

Thanks Geoff. I thought about going a little tighter, but I wanted the color from the red buds in the tiger shots and the Chipmunk felt crowded. I could clone out the flower in the bottom right of the chipmunk shot. The red panda was just a snap curiously. You hear about the giant panda a lot, but that guy almost reminds me more of a raccoon.

Thanks Frank. It does take a little patience and careful eye for the background to minimize the enclosure.

Thanks Pania. Yes that is a chipmunk with its' checks full of food. They are cute and curious. When they are in my yard they are pests.

Oddly enough, there are a lot of chipmunks and squirrels around the zoo. I'm guessing it is due to all the available food. Mostly the animals ignore them, even the big cats -- they are just to well fed. The great apes will chase them just for a distraction.

Thanks everyone for viewing and the comments.

Beautiful images! I especially adore the last tiger image for the mesmerizing eye contact. (and the sheer beauty of the image)

Thanks Geoff. I appreciate the feedback, read each, and try to learn -- although might be a little slow sometimes ;-)

Thanks Christina. I was trying to learn from some of the feedback earlier in the thread. I agree that the eye contact does drawing you in, or at a minimum make you pause and wonder if he is sizing you up for lunch.
