    Canada Geese and new lens

Took my new Sigma 150-500mm lens out today. Got the good, the bad and the ugly with it. Tried tripod, hand held, mf, af, with and without OS. Both of these were hand-held with OS and Af. Need practice but love the lens. Overcast so the colors were subdued. The third was mf and no os.

The almost good (sorry folks this is my nest)

The bad (red wing blackbirds are back today)

I like #1. A very good composition. Two subjects doesn't normally work - but it does here. Nice.

I bought the same lens about 6 months ago. Lugged it around New Zealand for weeks on end but the weather was not conducive to that style of photography. You have inspired me to try again. It is a very sharp lens and the OS makes it reliable even when hand held
