    The Oyster Catcher
I can't compete with the other guys. The UK shot was outstanding as was the Ausie, but these two were on the beach in the Puget Sound and worth the shot.

Err, that's not really an oyster.

There's no competition, Ken, you just have to be lucky to get decent captures of birds. Luck certainly played a large part in the images I posted.

The second shot seems to have an exposure problem but there is nothing wrong with the other two. What I notice particularly about this variety is the difference in the colour of the eye.

Love your story...what is the greyish one? Is that the female version of this bird, Ken?

Ditto. This site is rapidly turning into "Cousins Reunited".

Nice set of images. It's always better IMHO, when you catch an animal doing something in its environment rather than just a static shot.

Agree, funny when I took the shots, I didn't realize of how widespread the specie was. (Always wanted to put specie in a sentence. )

Hey Izzie, they had to be a pair, the grey one kept going over and squawking at the other.....I'll leave now....
