I took this photo last weekend in the woods,it is not very sharp because the web was moving slowly in the wind and the light wasn't enough,so although I increased ISO up to 400 ,my shutter speed was 1/100.It was taken with 300 mm and f/5,6.I edited it in ACR and tried to make the web stand out,I focused manually because it was impossible to focus automatically.I like the composition but I don't know if it is too crowded.Your comments are appeciated as always,I need your opinions to improve myself.Thank's in advance

Binnur if you know the triumvirate of ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture well, if one did not work, you upped or reduce the other. Because it was windy at the time you took this shot, think of speed. How do you freeze speed -- by upping the shutter speed. 1/100 is not good enough. So you should have taken it at 1/1000 if the wind is really that windy-windy...you know the relationship of the light as against your ISO as you said you got problems with the light on a lower ISO, you upped that. Now you got take consideration of your shutter speed too in relation to the condition of the environment you are shooting at.

Now this is only my opinion. I was thinking of car speed or airplane speed when I typed this.

It didn't turn out too bad, I would have used a bit of toned down flash in a situation like this.

Thank you Isabel ,I usually don't go higher than 400 with ISO because my camera gives me really bad noice at higher values.That's why I couldn't go up any more with ISO and I was stuck with low shutter speeds in the woods.I have given myself a year to make a lot of trials with my camera and lenses and after that I'm planning to buy a better camera because I think dynamıc range and ISO are very important matters when you choose a camera.Thank you very much for your comments

Thank you John .I have realised by following the threads in CIC that using flashes are helpful in some situations.But to tell you the truth I really don't know very much about the types of flashes and which one is used for what situation.If you can tell me where I can get some detailed info about flashes I can inquire about them and I can buy a multi-purpose one (if there is..).

At least you spotted it and had a go, that's the only way you learn So perhaps it's a bit crowded and there's that slightly distracting light to the upper right, but, it also shows how things were and I find it interesting.

As for the sharpness at that aperture with it's limited DoF you have not done bad at all. I'm not sure what camera you have but at times the cameras own pop up flash can help in these sort of situations.

Thanks for your encouraging comments Grahame.My camera is a Canon 1100 D,it has got a small pop up flash,I might as well try that one until I buy a reasonable flash

Thank you David,I have been really spending a lot of time on photography since last October.I wasted some time before joining to CIC.But here in CIC I have realised that there are so many things to learn .I spent winter learning technical things about photography and this spring and summer I will be practising a lot and I will be sharing my photos for your precious comments.I have also started learning PS CC.So,my time is really full of photography.I'm really happy to be in CIC,it is not only a teaching website but also a very friendly atmosphere.Thanks again for encouraging
