Think I've said enuff up to now ...BTW, the 2nd Beetle is called a tortoise shell beetle, i believe there shell can actually change to camouflage..its and awesome bug and its eyes, for some reason, reminds my of ET!! If ya like him keep ya eyes open, i have a few of him in a fight for survival against a Giant ant...ok, not quite giant, but still, its a fight..kind of ...to be continued....

Great shot of #1. Clearly a beetle, Coleoptera. Closest I can find is Chrysolina sp. (Fam. Chrysomelidae)
#2 considerably harder to see, my first guess would be a type of leaf roller.

Your first beetle is one of the so called Leaf Beetles (Chrysomelidae family?). But they are difficult to fully identify from a photo.

And also very difficult to photograph without getting 'hotspots' due to their reflective surface.

I tried some very tiny (about 5mm) similarly coloured beetles yesterday; but no matter what I tried I never managed anything like this shot.
