Mountain Goat
I drove south of the Teton mountains to the town of Alpine, Wyoming, USA and was fortunate to find mountain goats grazing on a hillside. They were very close, just across a two-lane highway and not far up the slope. They were down close to the road where the sun had melted the snow somewhat, and they could get to the grasses. I've never seen anything like these animals before, even in a zoo.
Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Re: Mountain Goat
You were fortunate to be in the right place at the right time, Ken. Good for you!
I'm assuming you were headed south out of Jackson . . . more or less along the Snake? Did you go all the way to Farson and south to Rock Springs? When next on that route, be sure to stop at Farson for an ice cream cone at the store on the corner. They are HUGE and the store has become a popular cult destination.
BTW, another place you might see goats is on the BACK-Side of Rushmore. There is a back road that comes up to the visitor center parking lot and you will often see a small herd somewhere along that road near the top.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Mountain Goat
Hi Zen. I was with a group of 8 photographers. Some who were in a different car, reported seeing the goats the day before. So we specifically drove to Alpine just for the goats. After shooting way too many shots, we returned to Jackson. I do admit, the ice cream sounds good, though.

Re: Mountain Goat
I remember the first time I saw mountain goats and can imagine how exhilarating the experience must have also been for you.
Great control of the detail in the bright tones, Ken. Your image makes it look easy, but I know better.

Re: Mountain Goat
Nice shot. Exposure was handled well. Those guys can be tricky. They'll let you get really close then suddenly decide to take exception. A few years ago in Olympic NP a photographer got butted over the edge of a cliff to his death.
