A birdbath you don't see every day...

Posts by others reminded me of this photo from a few years ago when we lived in Fairbanks. The neighbor's birdbath.

A birdbath you don't see every day...

Animals just don't get the concept of 'BIRD' bath: ie for birds. I had a birdbath in the garden for a few months but the only thing that drank out of it was the neighbour's cat.

The Fairbanks area get very little annual precipitation. Where this was taken up on a hill it gets very dry in the summer. So any standing water is very attractive to all sorts of wildlife. Unfortunately, vegetable gardens are very attractive to the moose as well. But the buggers wait until the veggies are ripe before they come raiding
