I am about to try pp with layers and masks so it may be a while before good shots get posted.

I wonder if you are over complicating things? From my own experience with macro and my present workflow I find that minimal PP is required without having to delve into such areas as masks.

I may well be. And if it is one process too far I can always remove it from the workflow. But i won't know till I try... big sighs
