On Jack's suggestion a try at B&W. I have to admit I'm not sure at all

I don't think B&W works fine with this image Grahame,I personally prefer to stick with the coloured one

I like the black and white version a lot, but I do prefer the colour version for its simple natural beauty.

I like them both, Grahame. The first one has some beautiful tones in the fungi although the subject competes with the colours in the wood, which I also find quite interesting. But shooting the fungi from below reveals their elegant curves and that is emphasised more in the mono because I am not distracted by the tones in the wood.

    Binnur, Christina and Greg,

A worthwhile exercise and summed up well for me by Greg. My conclusion is that they are now both very different images of the same subject with the emphasis varying in each version between colour and shape, I like to keep things simple

Thanks for the comments...........................now to find my next subject.
