What a happy sunset!
Different for a sunset but I like it. Quit creative![]()
Unique. Nice job.
Nice perspective, Rob.
Clever.
Very interesting and unique
It may be just another sunset but there's not another one like this. I'll be interested to hear the crop suggestions, if any. Just one nit pick it appears to need a one degree approx rotation ACW. Great image Rob.
Grahame
Normally I would never vary from 'standard' ratios - 7:5; 16:9; 1:1, but in this case (assuming it isn't standard ration, which I haven't checked), I be tempted to look at a crop at the exact same ratio as that space at the end thr0ough which we are looking at the sun and the water. That would also contribute to taking away the out-of-focus beams in the foreground.
Brilliant vision to 'see' the shot.

Very interesting and creative RobI agree with Grahame about some rotation. Also some cropping might help to improve the picture more.
Spectacularly seen, conceived, and captured - with credit due mother nature also of course. Definitely not "just another...". Takes this special event from ordinary to intriguing. The panorama from out on the beach would have had much less interest. Rotation and crop as mentioned, and maybe slipping the the subject a bit off center might add. But great, alreay.
Nothing about this image is 'just another', Rob. You have here a unique combination of common elements that transcend what we think about when we consider a pier, ocean and sunset. Add to that a pleasing color pallet to complement the scene an just the right amount of detail and you have an attention grabbing winner! A well thought out and executed composition.
You failed to name your image right; this is an awesome Sunset![]()
Very well thought out and executed. I am of the school that artistry trumps subject matter in photography, this definitely fits that. Besides i am a sucker for sunrises and sunsets. I might be lucky enough to see 10,000 more of each. Few will be the equal of this.
Stunning sunset. Pro work.
Though not the composition, but the colors made this pic for me.
I would truly like to thank all the members who took the time to comment on this picture. I am very appreciative of all the kind word and the advice given.
The sun sets in this position twice a year and I have it marked on my calendar to give it another try.
Thanks again,
Rob
Unique and well done!
