Very challenging shot. Did you try to bracket your exposures?

Nice shot Richard. Agree with John, you've handled the inside /outside lighting well.

I did bracket but I did not composite the images into an HDRI. I just picked out what I though was the best of the exposures and worked from there. My main concern was to get some detail in the window area and not have it blown out. I then worked on the surrounding areas and the man praying to bring them up from a silhouette to where there was some detail.

I realize that there is some noise in the praying subject but, I just let that go after some minimal noise reduction.

I would normally have used a flash to fill light the man praying but, the Blue Mosque is an active house of worship so I thought that it would be more respectful to shoot only available light...

I did use flash-fill with some shots in the Hagia Sophia. opposite from the Blue Mosque, since it is no longer a house of worship (after being a Byzantine Cathedral and a mosque). It is now a museum...

Nice, those high ceilings make it hard to use bounce light.

The Joe Demb Flash Diffuser Pro modifies the flash and doesn't result in the "deer in the headlights" look...
