    Canon 6D sensor failure

Just a heads up really. We have experienced sensor failure on our 6D. Purchased May 2013 and used in our office studio almost daily for video and stills. Almost always on a heavy duty tripod. There has been no physical damage or shocks to the camera so far as we know. Problem manifests as a vertical red line and a horizontal red line across the camera screen and on videos and stills.

Camera has been re-set. It is not a card problem. No sign of any physical damage to the sensor (which is clean).

It has gone back to Canon for warranty repair and I will report back on findings.

    Re: Canon 6D sensor failure

Well, all electronic devices have some failure rate, no matter how small. Sorry you ended up being one of the unlucky ones. This might not be a sensor failure; it could be a failure in other electronic components, because the signal has to go through a lot.

My guess is that because the problem is apparent and readily replicable, you won't have a problem with Canon's repairs. Good luck.
