    "Winter trees" - another poem

Summer will soon be back with us, unless, that is you live in Australasia (Colin)!

    C&C welcome.

    "Winter trees"

How they must long for trees,
those lonely souls in a barren place.
Where, bereft of any natural arbour,
they dream enviously of our bosky space.

They never lay in love, leaf-canopied
as we did while insects lulled us to sleep.
    With nature’s sweet perfumed air,
I professed my love for you to keep.

But now, in this dark winter raiment,
    with blue-cold frosty haze.
I wonder, am I just imagining,
    those long-ago joy-filled days?

Maaan - to be honest, I can't wait for the END of summer over here - I'm getting sick of standing around in a pool of sweat.

Again good work....photographically and phonologically phine stuph. I especially like the last two trees and your poetry adds art to art.

I like 2 & 3 the best. The toning in 1 doesn't do much for me. In 3, maybe a little bit of room on the left, the branches are going out of the frame.
