Child with mother

I caught this young child staring at me as she and her mother walking in front of me. I managed to get a clear shot of the child's face with the mother's head in the foreground and the street in the background.

Thanks Greg. I was happy to get this shot (the little girl's eyes are so bright and shiny, that I can see my reflection in them when I enlarge the original to around 300%).

I think my large equipment (D800 with battery grip and the f/2.8 70-200mm lens) might have helped, for a change. The little girls mother spotted me and turned her back to me, lining me up for the shot I really wanted.

Yep, I think this is a very strong image. Reminds me of something I'd see in the NG magazine I just set down to check on these forums.

Are the skin tones right? Perhaps a little orange but I don't know the skin tones in that part of the world. A lot of people would complain about the color of the mother's top being reflected in the child's cheek, but I love it.

I can't say for sure as I am editing on my laptop right now. I will have another look at all of these images when I get home and use my usual computer. My laptop is profiled and calibrated, but it is still a laptop with the relatively poor colour reproduction.
