Scored a flight this afternoon over to Dusky Sound. I've seen this scenery many times before from the air but it always takes my breath away and today was perfect weather wise. Simply amazing, afraid the photo's don't do it justice and sorry about the reflections - gotta get me a polarising filter....

- that bush line is actually at about 3 and a half thousand feet, normally covered in snow over the Winter months so the Beech trees have the good sense not to go up there.
is probably just a slip (rockslide). These mountains are forever moving - the Southern Alps being on a major faultline - tectonic plate movement and all that stuff. We had a small earthquake (5.1) just a couple of weeks ago actually.
