    Float Plane over Fiordland (NZ)

Scored a flight this afternoon over to Dusky Sound. I've seen this scenery many times before from the air but it always takes my breath away and today was perfect weather wise. Simply amazing, afraid the photo's don't do it justice and sorry about the reflections - gotta get me a polarising filter....

Great scenery, looks a lot like some places in Alaska.

Beautiful country. I presume these were shot through glass/plastic windows? A polarizer would help there. Good shots.

I'm fascinated by the tied mark of trees up the sides of the hills; above which they do not grow. In the third there appears to be a road going nowhere and in the sixth a downhill river. It is a beautiful aircraft photographed extremely well inside and outside you are very lucky to live in New Zealand I don't believe you are allowed to land one in the UK except maybe the Lake District and Scotland. Cheers

Yes, shot through the back window, the one with the least scratches from over enthusiastic punters headsets and camera lenses. Polariser on the way as we speak! :-) Thanks.

Cool... Would love to visit some day and looks like a plane ride would be the perfect way to take it all in!

Yeah big tides here in NZ - that bush line is actually at about 3 and a half thousand feet, normally covered in snow over the Winter months so the Beech trees have the good sense not to go up there.

That's actually not a road but a wooden boardwalk for people to walk out to the lake/pond to view the wildlife and the 'downhill river' is probably just a slip (rockslide). These mountains are forever moving - the Southern Alps being on a major faultline - tectonic plate movement and all that stuff. We had a small earthquake (5.1) just a couple of weeks ago actually.
