    Very nice Brian,I wonder how it would look if you crop it from right and from bottom just to leave the spider with a piece of flower..then spider would stand out more I suppose...But your shot is nice as it is anyway

    I think your composition is much nicer...for a bigger spider image ,crop#1 might be suitable

    I do prefer mine, if for no other reason than with your crops the ant is lost.

    Very nice capture, Brian. I am partial to the first crop - it highlights/focuses on the main aspect of the image (the spider capturing a meal).

    Not sure what the meal was, but if this was in the UK the spider would definitely be Misumena vatia, one of the crab spiders (Thomisidae family).

    It is amazing how they can catch prey considerably larger than themselves and, in many cases, potentially dangerous creatures like bees etc.

    And they can slightly change colour to blend in with their surroundings.

    I have no idea either what the meal is. These spiders do come in a variety of translucent shades.

    And they can slightly change colour to blend in with their surroundings.
