2009 saw the recession having an impact on tourist numbers at Angkor in Cambodia. Combine that with visiting the temple at lunchtime (out of synch with the tourist groups) and it meant that my wife and I literally had the world's largest single place of worship to ourselves.
Eerie and amazing!
