A small selection of my favourite and most photographed bird over the last 3 years, all images taken at The Red Kite Feeding Station, Llanddeusant, Carmarthenshire, Wales:
Thanks everyone for your comments. As always, very much appreciated.
@Dan That's why I never tire of going back to the feeding station, I always seem to come back with some different shapes and angles. This is a licensed feeding station and the owner spreads cuts of prime meat on the ground for them, the kites will swoop down, grab the meat in their talons and find clear sky to feed on the wing.....I'm still waiting to get the coveted crisp feeding shot though, this is the nearest I've got:
It's nice to have access to such a place. There used to be a lady in Homer, Alaska who fed several dozen bald eagles all winter. The vast majority of the bald eagle shots you see done by professionals were taken there. The city passed an ordinance making it illegal to feed them but granted her lifetime rights. She died a couple of years ago. Now the pros just charter a boat and go outside the city limits and do it themselves. It's a good clue bait is being used if you see an shot of an eagle carrying a fish that is as stiff as a board
