Yes good detail here. Even the common species can be amazing when seen close up.

    Hi Claudio,

Really not much to say other than excellent shots.

You have managed to capture these with far less colour reflection problems than the bees on this flower the other day, did you do something significantly different? Flash or natural light, tubes?

Since taking my first macro fly images I have to admit that when I see one of the many different types now I look at them more closely and do not consider them annoying pests.

Ty all for your kind comments..especially thank you to Graham, David and Geoff for the help on my bee post.
Graham.. 2 differences which I think had effect. 1 I set flash to manual..took a few tests shots(which I never did, I know, I should always do it)..so got that set right..and 2, I was only using 1 Ext tube, the 12mm actually..so..my diffuser was still reaching the end like this.. I think both of these changes helped. I'll just have to come up with something when all tubes are on as well... As off camera flash is ok.. But I have a D5100.. So it causes a little problems.

Thank you for all your help guys.

Thanks Bobo..yeh..my diffuser is actually home made..I've tried a few but this one really gets the best light..softly takes away shadows..and thanks to some help from C and C members..I've learnt to use flash in manual mode. You get best result when u work at it rather than just click away.
