Re: the crow
What a good shot! I was lingering/wondering about #1 shot until I saw #2 to understand why you included that stick underneath...#3 is equally good if not better...

Re: the crow
Very nice series James with fine isolation of the background.

Re: the crow
Yes, a nice background to these. What lens did you use?

I just love them; sometimes we miss the beauty of simplicity

Re: the crow
Nice set. I especially like the 3rd image for the bokeh, beautiful detail and the overall mood.

Re: the crow
Thanks everybody.
I used to different lens/cameras, The first two were shot with my T2i and a 200mm 2.8L . The third one was shot with my 50D and a 400mm 5.6L. I know it may sound crazy but since I don't have a zoom I carry these two setups like that and a lot of the time I have my 50mm. in my pocket.

Re: the crow
The second shot is awesome. Great angle on the bird and excellent feather detail. You got that blue/black luster often seen on crows but not typically captured in photos. At first I wasn't crazy about the pano crop but it grew on me as I studied the image a bit. I think it works because the eye is vividly captured so you get a clear sense of the bird looking into the open frame. The image is elegant in its simplicity. Nice job.

Re: the crow
Thanks everybody. I was out chasing eagles when these two fishing Crows entered my scene. It was a pleasant diversion, though crows will interrupt an eagle shoot.
