On The Water in January

There was ice on the boat ramp as I launched the kayak and more ice up Turner's Creek. I didn't get a single useable BIF from all the eagles, hawks, geese, ducks and herons that were swarming the area. On the way back to the boat ramp I got this image. A satisfying day in the end. C&C always solicited.

Oh well...it is not in Canada. Andrew, if you darken the skies a little bit for emphasis will it ruin the scenario? Just asking...otherwise, it is a good simple shot, very refreshing to see something like that even though in shivering conditions like we are experiencing here...as James said, it looks cold...brrrrrrrrrr.........

James - Thank you....yes, the water is cold and with the latest shot of arctic air the water is likely all ice by now.

Isabel - The contrast in the sky is boosted a bit. I went back and tried darkening with a bit of reduced exposure but didn't care for the unnatural appearance the sky took on. As you note it is a simple shot and that is what I was striving for (thank you). Fortunately it is NOT in Canada but rather the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.

Bravo! Too often we see PP yielding a glowering other-planet roof as in uh oh - here comes another methane storm!
