    The Kelpies

These magnificent structures are part of The Helix Project in Falkirk, Scotland. Luckily for me, the park is literally a 5 minute walk from my house.

The kelpies are 30 metres high and weigh around 300 tons each. It's been very fascinating watching the build progress. The structures themselves are complete but work is still ongoing for the area around them (that's why you'll see the construction equipment).

Unfortunately, you can't get right underneath them or directly in from of them yet, so as to get the full effect of them, but come April 2014 all the work should be completed.

Anyway, here's a few pics from today. There has been no PP done to them.

    C & C most welcome.

Interesting project and interesting pics Gordon. I like the third image in particular because of the light. It will be better when all the construction equipment is gone. Anywhere near The Wheel ?

Dave, they are only a few miles away from the wheel.... if you follow the Forth & Clyde Canal. You can't miss them if you follow the M9 from Edinburgh to Stirling. It runs right past it.

Basically these shots are fine, although there are a couple of very small over bright spots on the horses; which I would tone down during editing.

With the first image, I would ideally have liked to see a fraction more of the boats, as they do give a sense of scale, or leave them out altogether.

The second image works better than the third for me, simply because it doesn't have that prominent construction fence.

But these are very minor suggestions on what were obviously tricky shots.
