    Dragonfly chase Broome Western Australia

Broome is known for its main beach - Cable Beach and its pearling industry history

Camel rides on the beach at sunset being an iconic image to photograph and experience, I did take images of those things, but also had some fun chasing then elusive dragonflies around the pool.
It was a wonderful place to visit different than the east coast and for an International guest probably dare I say more uniquely Australian.

here are some of my dragonfly shots from early use of a macro lens.

and the elusive red one…. red ones do go faster it seems even when wings are the mode of transport!

These are very nice pictures. Dragonflies never stay still long enough for me.

Aw c'mon Kay, how about some camels at sunset !

To be perfectly honest, dragonflies don't interest me that much but I have to say that these are good shots (and they need to be viewed in Lightbox to get the best view too). I particularly like the blue one and the third which has wonderful detail.

If I ever dream of chasing beautiful elusive flighty things around a pool I am sure dragonflies would not immediately spring to mind.

The colour of the first one is dramatic but the depth of field is a bit shallow but top marks for nailing the focus of the lovely eyes even if they have no lashes. It is not hard to understand why #3 is so popular. The effort cropping or cloning out the dark arc on the bottom left would probably pay dividends. The lighting on the last one is a bit harsh but there is some nice detail in the wings.
