Oh, i missed this post, my mistake . I mostly shoot non-RAW, a truly unprofessional attitude, probably because i know i am not professional. Recently i found even RAW shot images opened in PICASA, but as a JPEG version; as per my limited knowledge, there is RAW edition possible in PICASA. I request some wise men to shed more light on this issue; i stand obliged

    Thank you very much Binnur

Thank you Nandakumar, I have got Picasa on my computer because you recommended it to me when I first came to CIC.Last week I also installed Digital Photo Professional which came in the same box with my camera. So I think I have enough programmes as a beginner. Now all I have to do is to learn post processing

Nandakumar - I continue to enjoy the creativity with thought and image and how you meld them.
On noise - I've seen some here and there, but I think of it simply as digital's grain, and it's presence does not, to me, always call for removal. Perfection and flawlessness are different things, to my thinking. For example, an aged face full of flaws can be perfect nonetheless.

    Hi Binnur,

I still have Picasa on my computer from my earlier days and I just tried it on a raw image and yes one can edit a raw photo in Picasa but it is super slow, and I suspect that Digital Photo Professional would work better.

    Re: Mindscapes...

It is working on the raw image.

Aside... a couple of years ago when I first joined this forum I noted that everyone seemed to recommend taking raw images... So I set my camera to raw and jpeg, and never touched my raw files... Today I am happy to have those raw files because there are a few images that are keepers but just need the white balance fixed and it is so easy to do without effecting the quality of the image.
