Nice shot, it certainly works for me.
Well done.

The nostalgic look works just fine, so long as one does not look too closely at the modern equipment and uniforms.
Yep thats a good photo. Everything works for me
Nostalgia can pertain to the past of decades ago or the past of a day ago.
This works for me mostly because it's a good image and because the sepia tone eliminates the otherwise distracting colors worn by the fans. I've always felt that modern photos work well as sepia images and this is a perfect example. Well done!
Thanks guys for the comments. Only thing missing in this shot is the ball. I tried to time it so the ball coming at him was in the shot. If you notice his right leg lifting, I was not far off. Hard to capture a ball at 90 mph.
The other thing that I found interesting is the compression of the shot (I assume you used a fairly long lens to take it). The third base and the 334' sign look like they are a lot closer than they really are.
That compression also helps draw our attention to the third-base umpire, who is intently focused on the batter.
Great shot Travis!
Travis, very nice photo.

I love it!
Very nice/ Looks great. Go Eagles!!
Thanks guys for the comments. Photography is a very interesting hobby. Sometimes I wander around with my $2000 camera and lens and don't get anything worthwhile. This was shot with a small canon point & shoot with the sun glare so bad I couldn't even see the image on the screen. Just sorta aimed and fired.
I'm with you Steve.."Go Eagles"
Beautiful image! I love everything about it, especially the nostalgic feel.
Ouch!
Anyway...Really works awfully well - the way the crowd seems almost in motion with attention to the action adds heft and it's mysterious to me how effectively that portion of the scene enhances the overall effect. The monochrome treatment gives a result I imagine to be much better than that color would provide.
Not really bragging Mike, yeah I am, guess the eye is really trained.
