I found two bad shots out of the tens of thousands I've shot, so I conclude that I, too, am a useless photographer.

I have stumbled on KR's web sites a number of times. Never looked at his web gallery before. He seems to be a bit facebook like in that area. He documents what he does with a lot of photo's. What I see is a lot of very competently shot and processed photo's few of which follow the wow look at the post processing route that seem to be attractive to a lot of people these days. Some probably don't even realise it is post processing. Subject matter he uses varies. I found much to my surprise that for some reason or the other I liked one of an aeroplane wing. Others fall into the same category. Not things I would shoot. Many of the shots just turn out to be documentaries of a trip. Most are very well produced. A few show some bizarre post processing or more likely lack of it. Perhaps he was short of time. On the other hand I have a phobia about blacks with no detail in them especially clothes. Same with whites even when both are together. I am aware of that though and wonder how many people are aware of theirs and their likes and dislikes.

I find his opinions interesting especially for a photographer. Now I know he has at least an engineering bent I understand why too. P mode is an interesting aspect of that. It's logical and make a mockery of I shoot manual etc. I can't really see any reason for using any other mode other than full auto. I will use that too in some circumstances as the manufacturers are well aware of just how to get the best jpg out of their cameras and the results might be better than I can get from raw - on some cameras. Again the attitude is logical and based on my own experience. Many engineers learn that there is an awful amount of rubbish / partially true information kicking about in all sorts of areas at a very young and tender age and realise that there is a need to make ones own mind up about most things. They also have to have a positive attitude about their current beliefs. He certainly doesn't lack that. It's also worth bearing in mind he is selling himself. That seems to be pretty effective too.

I did not call KR “USELESS”, I called him a useless Photographer. Perhaps there is a little difference? There are many things I am useless with and I will be the first to admit it.
    Andre-bashing time . . .

. . . is it not true that a "useless photographer" can be an excellent photographer but a useless driver? Where I'm from (England), we would have clarified our statement to be "useless as a photographer". That, however, would be before the disappearance of the hyphen and the general deterioration in grammar world-wide, or should I say world wide? In other words, as long as somebody knows what you mean, it's OK (gag).

To paraphrase: "One small step for difference in words; one giant leap in clarity"
