I do like this image however, what bothers me are the partial OOF figures on either side of the frame, especially the woman wearing the bright yellow beneath her sweater at image left. I tried cropping out the OOF figures but, I am not sure that the image has the same impact.
The lady in the red pants is a really trim lady and makes a great contrast next to the shorter (and I am being judgmental) somewhat dumpy lady next to her.
I like the first image better because detail is not lost in the white blouse of the lady in the red pants who IMO is the main figure..
Richard,
Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I too considered cropping but it slices through other items (such as the ground level or overhead signs).
The woman in red is the main subject. Regarding the two different edits both were edited for noise using Noiseware, but the first was sharpened with the Noiseware tool and additional sharpening applied with PSE8. The second image was sharpened using PSE8 only. When viewed on my screen the skintone of the woman in red, which was sharpened with Noiseware looked fragmented, when I uploaded to forum it looked fine.
I rather like the idea of having those advertising signs but that out of focus person on the left has to go. Which creates a problem whatever is tried.
For me, I think the only option is to crop tighter but still leave some of the 'street scene' visible in the background.
Something roughly like this.
The second image just about works for me. The right side woman is cropped but her face is OK, which is the important bit.
You might get away with a slight crop from the top and left side. But they are both looking in that direction so I wouldn't want to reduce by too much.
