Humming Birds
In a friends garden just outside Portland, Oregon.
The red feeder contains a highly sweet mixture that attracts humming birds and I have seen up to ten try to access the feeder.
These birds are very difficult to film because when they hover they are flapping their wings at up to 80 times per second.
Any advice on how best to capture these wonderful creatures? I had my camera set on AV mode, which I now think was a mistake, as can be seen from the shutter speeds below.

Use F11 or F13 (to prevent ambient light). For shutter speed to freeze the wings use at least somewhere between 1/5000 to 1/7000.
