    Ingallala Falls

    Ingallala Falls
    Hi!
Been having trouble with computer and tinypics, all good now.
My first ever waterfall shot. I just got a Hoya cpl so I set out to a waterfall way out in the scrub (20kms in and 20kms out). I would like your c&c.

    Cheers Colin.

    Hi Colin,
I think the big rock buffers the appeal of the falls; it is better to zoom in for the falls alone
    Regards

It is a nice rock with good texture and makes a well balanced scene. But if the waterfall is to be the main subject, then yes, that rock tends to dominate the scene.

As an alternative. What about cropping tighter on both sides and ending up with a 4 x 5 ratio which will give the waterfall more apparent height; but still retain sufficient amounts of rock and leaves.

Colin you have done it. A waterfall that looks like a WATERFALL and not like some cotton wool plastered to rocks. You actually got the right shutter speed for a waterfall. I love it.

The crop is a great improvement and really makes the image soooo much better.

    Well done!

Another shot, different angle. It is a very rugged area with restricted scope to move around this was the only other place I could go. C&C as always.
