    Honolulu Budddhist Temple

I had the pleasure of joining a meetup group that spent the day visiting a few of the Buddhist temples in and around Honolulu. The meetup was great although didn't allow a great deal of time at each location.

I processed these images with a variety of the NIK plug ins as I am just wrapping up my demo of the software and wanted to see what I could do with it.

    C&C is always appreciated.

The Sanju Pagoda (the pagoda was being renovated/repaired so I had to get creative with this composition to avoid some lovely orange construction fences that surrounded the bottom of the pagoda ).

    The Tenri Cultural Center grounds.

Goddesses (I was torn between this image and a darker, moodier version where the clouds were processed to look more ominous). The lighting was a bit challenging and this is what I settled on...

Nice captures Shane,I like the way the Nik plug in has worked on the Budda head.

Thank you David. The Buddha head shot is the one that I am most happy with but it was also the most challenging to process as he was sitting in a building and I was shooting into a brightly lit courtyard - keeping the highlights in check while still keeping the statue well exposed was a fine line to walk.

I am still working on my composition for wider shots but I was pretty pleased with the end results overall.

I can see why you are happy with the Buddha head shot, Shane, but your other photos are equally good. In the color photos I like how you managed the saturation and detail without overdoing it (IMO). Very nicely done.

Thank you Sergio. I am really enjoying the NIK set of plugins and made the decision to purchase the set when my trial version ended today.
