Despite looking quite well fed, s/he seems to be cursing the fence between the pair of you
As I suspect you are, for the wires.
Can they be 'mitigated' by well placed/masked local exposure/contrast/white balance adjustments I wonder?
Would take a while I'm sure though
I like the shot, it has good exposure and you've no doubt stretched or stooped to place the wires across the least disruptive body parts.
Lovely shot Andre - too bad about the wires. It would be wonderful if they the barriers between the animals and us were less obtrusive .
Hi Andre
Beautifully shot of the leopard, i think the wires should be more in focus so we can see they are wires and not maybe a louver window or slatted window. I disagree with Manfred, the point of the image is to show the animal is fenced in
Thank you Peter,
I am glad you do understand what I am trying to depict in the image. Getting the fence more in focus was a little difficult as I was about a meter away from the fence and he was about 4 meters away from the fence.
Maybe this shot of the white lion is probably a better attempt of what I am trying to express.
He is a really big lion and he looks pretty sad to be fenced in. Probably the whitest White Lion I have seen so far.
I wonder if two exposures would help in this case? One focused as you have here, and one focused on the fence. Could you then blend them together in pp? Or would that be too much work?
Hi Greg,
No need to blend two images to get the result you are referring to. Simply control DOF with distance and aperture and it can be achieved.
The object is not to show a clear fence but rather an “illusion” of a fence, there is “connection” between man and wild animals although there has to be “separation”.
Hi Andre,
Beautiful animals, if only we knew what they are thinking.
