    Brian, some nice detail of the ants at work. Not the easiest of shots in terms of the perspective and depth of field. I' be happy to have got it.

    If I was my shot, I'd consider changing the crop to remove a fair bit of the shadow at the bottom and similar amount of the bright area above. This I think would emphasise the key point for me which is the activity of the ants.

    Having said all that, it is still a good capture as is.

    Further to my suggestion of removing the very bright and very dark areas, this should give you a bit more flexibility to adjust contrast and extend the tones to reveal a bit more detail over the ants anatomy. (That said, I do not know just how 'black' they naturally are..)

    These ants are midnight black. I will play with the cropping and yes I am happy to have got it.
