Re: Partial Solar Eclipse
Wow, great capture and effort. I am sure alot of people assumed the sun would not be visible with cloud cover.
The 'sky calculator' said my closest point, Ft Lauderdale, Fl. USA, sun would be 'below the horizon' at time of eclipse.
Nice story telling photo about making the effort...

Well done Paul. You owe that fisherman. His appearance has really helped you get very fine images, especially, as Christina says, that first one.

Re: Partial Solar Eclipse
Thanks for the comments
. I've never witnessed a solar eclipse in any form in my life, so I was drooling at this opportunity. To my surprise, there was a large amount of people down at the beach to witness this celestial event. The second the sun peeked through the clouds, you could hear everyone going "YES!" or "Finally!".
When I was done, as I was walking back to my car a fisherman who was walking to the beach asked me what was going on since the beach was busier than normal at 7AM. I told him what happened and he goes, "oh, that explains that" and carried on towards the water.
If I ever find the guy who walked into the frame for my pics, I'll give him a few home brews
.

As a side note, I was glad to see Jones Beach back to where it was before Hurricane Sandy decimated it.
