This is an open-themed competition that is open to all CiC members.

ENTERING. Add your image in a new post below. Make sure to change your post title to a name for your picture (click the "Go Advanced" button). Only one entry per person. For help posting images, go here.

VOTING. When this competition reaches 10 entries, a poll will be automatically added and any member may then vote. After 2 days, voting ends and the winner is determined.

Once voting begins, a new competition will be automatically started.

Notes: Please do not request feedback or comment on other images until after voting has closed, as it could be unfair to other entrants. Photos must be your own, and never entered into one of our prior competitions. We also ask that only recently taken or edited photos be used as entries (in the spirit of motivating everyone to continually improve).

That's because we don't want to encourage critique before Voting closes; see the italics bit in the header post.

Trouble is; after voting closes, these posts are a lot harder to find and many members may miss the chance to even see who won, let alone provide feedback - I know that applies to me.

That's why we suggest C&C is specifically requested in the other fora and with additional information, as per...

With respect Dave I think most people on here understand that it would be unfair to post a comment before other people have voted. My point is there is little or no comments good/bad after the end of voting even from people who have put images into the mini competition. It's not a complaint from me just a observation and I am all for improving everybody's experience in photography as we are all on this forum.

I agree, but some don't understand, especially the 'transient' new members that come and go with one or two posts only - I guess my fear is that if we actually encouraged critique, instead of discouraging it, even more might make the same mistake.

I think we're on the same page here really, my reply was more to show we do take note of such observations, even if we don't feel able to improve matters, and also to re-iterate (for others) how the forum works best.
