Re: York Minster
Hi John: This is a nice shot and I do like it in B and W. The repeating pattern of the arches are in a pleasing spot within the frame. It's funny, but I was just there at York Minster a few weeks ago. It is truly breathtaking and inspirational.

Re: York Minster
This is a very nice composition, John, but is it perhaps rather light for an interior view of a cathedral? It does seem so to me - just my opinion, of course.

Re: York Minster
I do like these kind of shots. Would it have been possible to have taken the image from directly in the center of the aisle?

Re: York Minster
Thanks all for your comments.
Phillip. it is lighter than you would experience if you were there but that was deliberate. Right or wrong, I reasoned that if you want to show off the building, you don't want to lose any detail in the darker areas. I deliberately chose the north aisle because the light was less contrasty than the south aisle but even so, it was a processing challenge.
Jack, didn't occur to me at the time but the pillars on the RHS lead through into the main part of the Nave and I suspect that I might have introduced a lot of distracting detail on the RHS.

Re: York Minster
John,
A good image and I think I have learned something when I say to you the perspective correction in this image does it perfectly.
It all works very well, imho. Well done!
