Ibanez:
Shot under these power saving low wattage bulbs. I have no idea what kind of light it is but WB was Pre-Set.
Minimal PP in ACDSee.
Does it work? Is it too dark?

Re: Ibanez:
Andre,
Does it work? well for me not quite because whilst technically good its just all too symetrical.
Guitars are fascinating subjects to get in close at different angles picking on the contrasts between natural wood and metals with their clearly defined sharp edges. Get in close to the strings and pluck one just before the shot, get details of the frets.
A few years back I wanted to sell an acoustic guitar I had on ebay and took a series of close-ups which I can unfortunately no longer find and they were some of my favourite images for which I just used natural light. I followed the work of a guitar maker who was also a keen photographer and interestingly about the only guitar shot that you can not get to be impressive is one showing all of it.

Re: Ibanez:
It does work, and it's more the lighting and tonality than anything else.
I have been pondering the subject for rather long time, and I have taken a few shots of my guitarron and my tres at low angles, although not with any dramatic lighting. One feature that I was investigating was how to get everything in focus, which is rather easily accomplished by tilt. (example)
I think I will do a bit more on the subject.
