This is not a special photo but it is the only decent photo I got of a giraffe in the wild on my recent trip to South Africa. Every time we came upon giraffes, I had the wrong lens on my camera. I thought it was quite nice of the giraffe to turn its head straight toward me and to stand in front of a group of trees that provided such nice framing.
One time we came upon five giraffes very close together at dusk in a scene that reminded me of the scene in Jurassic Park with the tall dinosaurs (I can't remember the name of the species). I simply put down my camera and enjoyed being there. The idyllic scene impacted me so strongly that our friends gave us a parting gift to help me always remember it.
