Rusty Lock and Chain
I liked the way this rusty lock hung from its chain. It reminded me of how a man's pocket watch hangs.
Comments welcomed.

Re: Rusty Lock and Chain
Nice composition and small depth of field. If you could catch the subject when it is side lit to emphasize the texture or if you could add artificial light to do that, I think you would like the photo a lot better.

Re: Rusty Lock and Chain
Thanks Mike. The day i took this picture outside light was completely flat. I just liked the composition. I developed a BW version where the lighting is less of an issue. Lightroom has a sunlight program. I'm going to see if I can't execute on your suggestion using software.

Re: Rusty Lock and Chain
I like it; yet i wanted the lock and key doing their Dharma of locking; here gate seems open; so depth of feeling or tension it creates slackens

Hi Wavelenght. Interesting comment. In this case, the gate is locked but not tightly. Open and closed simultaneously. There must be a philosophical principle somewhere in this.

Re: Rusty Lock and Chain
I decided to post a BW of this image where the poor lighting is less of an issue (I think?).
