Kevin, I really like this image. It reminds me of a French Impressionistic Painting but, the French impressionists never seemed to portray a fall season woodland scene like this.
Absolutely gorgeous... and an inspiration for me as I am going to try some landscape fall colour shots... So now I know what to strive for!
Beautiful![]()
Thanks, all. Really glad you liked it.
Lovely shot, Kevin.
Beautiful subdued colors that show wonderfully in the foreground water. It makes me really look forward to the autumn we are now just getting a taste of.
The colours are very pleasing in this shot. We are experiencing the end of the fall colours which is quite grim as the next step is snow! I find myself gazing at the little structure on the right hand side. Is it a forgotten gazebo? I wonder why it is there? It really defines this shot. Very nice.
Nice shot.
Just wondering if I missed the message of this image in the light of its title
"Golden Pond".
Thanks.
Thanks, Kathy!
Hi Kevin,
It is a stunning scene.
There is something missing, except for the sky layer, the punch is just not there. It must have to do with sharpness and saturation.
Sorry Kevin.![]()

Hi, Andre. You are right. This is not my usual way to process and both colour and sharpness have intentionally been muted via some filtering and overlayed on texture. It is intended as an impressionistic look, and I expected it to be taste specific. I only like it, but my wife loves it, so I am the happiest of creatures.
