Brian,
To be absolutely honest, an out of focus picture of a lizard which I suspect is a crop and posted at this small size due to the image quality.
I do not understand why someone that has got a camera that can produce very reasonable images, has produced a far better image, i.e the cicada, would post something so poor and ask others how it looks.
Yes it is a crop. I cropped it because I was trying to capture a 50's 60's sort of Godzilla look. I posted it because as far as I know this is not only for the best of the best but some of the rest too. In this case a picture that is indeed out of focus but which i believed had some merit as far as trying to capture a feeling.
Sorry to have disappointed you.
B
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play? Actually, IMO, this would have been a nice image except for the problem you mentioned...
Brian,
I would certainly not consider this site one of which is only for the best of the best images and it has a wide membership at all skill levels of which the pictures posted demonstrate.
When an image is posted that simply has a title " I know it is not quite in focus but aside from that how does it look " with no other information the viewer can only give a response on what he is looking at. So how it looked was a very simple answer for me and in my opinion, the impression was and remains as I gave in post No 2.
Asking for opinions and critique is a two way thing, if you want someone to put their time and effort to assess an image it's also a good idea to put some effort into giving them more to go on than a title that states 'how does it look'.
Should you have advised viewers that you were trying to capture a 50's 60's sort of Godzilla look and the feeling that would have been a help.
Now I have that information I have looked carefully at the image again and would comment, in my opinion you have not achieved the Godzilla look or feel because the background is out of proportion to the size I would expect a Godzilla type creature to be.
