A Simple Feather Shot
The occasion being the arrival of a Sigma 50mm f/2.8 macro EX DG lens for my Sigma SD9 camera.
Feathers are good test subjects - having very fine detail and an ever-present opportunity for moire. First a rangefinder shot, so to speak:

Not the best of shots (it's a crop) but enough to know more work was needed. The feather is about 18mm wide and the hairs (not the vertical fuzz) are about 10-15um diameter. I took a closer shot (about 1:1.3) but, at f/8, it lacked DOF. So, I backed off a bit and got a nicer shot, IMHO.

Seeing that the pixels on my camera are just over 9um, the hairs came out rather well.
