    View of North Yorkshire coast

I've been back from holiday for a few weeks and am looking over my photos again. I hadn't noticed this one the first time round and now it caught my attention. It's on a heath in North Yorkshire and there's a nice view over the sea.

I thought a 16:9 crop best, as showing more sky or heath doesn't add much to the image. I also have a preference for this crop for landscapes.

    Comments welcome as always.

I like it. It's a long time since I've been in that part of the world. Is it Robin Hoods Bay?

A very fine image. I like the amount of foreground that's been included.

Quite an attractive image. Very well composed and the elements of heath, agricultural land and sea fit well

The lilac-green-blue combination works well for me

I'm quite sure it's Robin's Hood Bay. I didn't know exactly where I was at the time, as I followed a friend when driving to the place where we went walking, and didn't pay much attention to our location. But I later visited Robin Hood's Bay and this picture does look like it to me.

Thanks Donald. I spent some time deciding on the foreground and am glad you like it.

Thanks Trevor. The photo was taken in a hurry because I was in tourism mode, walking with family and friends. But I did spend some moments composing it and am glad it turned out as I imagined. All the elements were quite easy to identify and it wasn't hard getting the balance right in the camera. (I wonder if I would have thought that two years ago when I decided to go beyond point-and-shoot ...)

Thanks Nandakumar. The heath is indeed beautiful and it was a rare sunny day in England!
