I think you are hoping for macro 'experts' to weigh in, well, I am not, but 3,4 5 are great! Holy cow, clarity, background, lighting, and insect leg- hair, who could ask for more!!

These are too good. You make me jealous.

Can I ask what camera was used?

    Hi Claudio,

    Great series, thanks for sharing.

I understand why you like the hover flies, the fine detail of the hairs helps to show the IQ.

No 4 is exceptionally good considering the high ISO of 1600 and shows the wing detail perfectly with no distracting hotspots caused by the flash.

Thank you all for your very kind comments... Tony I'm using my Nikon D5100..it performs very well at high ISO . But it's the lens that I'm using that's really great I'm using my new Tamron 90mm vc macro lens. Very happy with it.

Not a macro fan even though I try it from time to time.
I have to say to my eye No 4 is very very good.

So sharp and clear, so detailed,

Claudio, I should have looked up the file info to get the camera type. The reason I was interested is that there seems to be a slight moire pattern on the fly's wings - not that it matters.

4,5 and 6 for me Claudio but the rest are good too. If I have a comment, it's that 4 is cropped a little too closely for me but a really good set..
