    Apron strings - cut!

Oh well, here I am, the pathetic parent moaning about the loss of my 1st born to Uni. I said goodbye to my lovely lottie at Exeter Uni today, she said don't expect a phone call every day - maybe 2 or 3 times a week....it lasted exactly 3 hours when I just had to text her to ask "Are you OK because I'm not!"

    Apron strings - cut!

Have lots of fun my darling daughter, but don't forget to work hard. Make the most of all your talents and never forget the best shopping partner you can ever have is your Mum because you will never have to pay for a thing, even lunch..........I feel that I have lost a child but gained a best friend......

Looks like you also (temporarily) lost a wonderful model. Very nice shot.

“If you love something, let it go. If (when) it comes back to you it’s yours forever”.

It took me a long time to understand this Joanne!

May I offer my sincere congratulations on a job well done (I wish there were more parents in the world like you)? Not to mention a beautiful image?

As hard as it is now, the next phase is even better!

    Go get ‘em First Born!

It's tough to see your child, someone that has been part of your life for so long leave to take on the world. Been there 4 years ago. I must admit it's hard to come to grips with at first.
Your daughter has the same steely determination and confident look in her eye's that Lauren gave me when she got on the plane for mainland Australia to seek her fame and fortune.
She is now managing a clothing company store in Surfers Paradise.
Miss your daughter everyday as I do mine Joanne but they have to leave and make their own way in this world and I'm sure your's will do great and wonderful things.
On a plus, the hug you get when you see her next is one you will never forget, trust me.
Oop's got myself all weepy. Silly old bugger

My oldest daughter left for university in 2007, and that was not as tough as with our second daughter who moved out a couple of weeks ago. The hosue was a bit quieter with three of us living at home, but now that we are "empty nesters" during the school term, it hit us even harder.

On the other hand, we did the same thing to our parents when we moved out to attend university, and that was in the days well before the internet and long-distance phone calls were so expensive that we could only afford to phone home every couple of weeks. The oldest daughter graduated in 2011 and moved to Japan, and we hear from her frequently via Skype (the 13 hour time difference does complicate mattes). The youngest is only a 6-hour drive away and we hear from her every day or so as well.

I think our parents must have been more lonely.

Lovely girl and great photo:> You might be surprised how often she calls:> True it won't be quite the same... but it does get easier with time.

Beautiful subjects make beautiful images. No matter how you capture this one she will always make a beautiful image.

Joanne you got to let them go and live their own life. No matter what she will always be your daughter. You love them and they always return.
