    When Lavender is not lavender.

We have a variety of different coloured lavenders growing around the place. English, the best doesn't like it here. But the French and Italian grow like weeds and self seed everywhere. So to check their spread we are forever pulling them out or using the ride on mower to curtail their spread.
So why the title for this post? Well we have all sorts of colours, including Kew red, white, green and a whole spectrum from purple to blue grey bracts. And the bloody things keep shooting up all over the place. We have to work at it to stop them from taking over.
Rather than take a shot of a whole bush in flower, which never seems to scrub up as well after downloading, I thought I would try for something with a little closer detail of the flower head, sort of suck it and see how it comes out pic.

Thanks for viewing and for any comments you may like to post.

Another type of lavender ( don't ask me the cultivar). I went for back lighting and narrow DOF

We get the purple ones wild here (and more and more cultivated, rather large fields at that)

Great shots Ken. I like the DOF control, the colours an the fact that Springtime is back South.
