Trying to get one of these in flight, but they're not playing ball! They're so damn fast!

Lemme offer my method...set up your tripod with a remote shutter pre focused on a likely flower containing a dab of honey for bait, making sure that you have a pleasing background.
Properly set your exposure using the wanted/needed SS, ISO, f/stop and go to manual mode set to rapid fire>grab a cuppa and hit the recliner positioned to see the subject area...wait.
Wait for that hummer to approach the bait and fire off a series of rapid fire, buffer filling, images.
You'll have a lot of OOF birds, but a fair number of great shots.

This was captured by blocking all but two opposing holes and waiting.

Stunningly beautiful! I think these are absolute perfection, and the 2nd image looks like an in flight shot to me. Thank you for sharing...

I would love to see an image of a poison dart frog, a monkey, a sloth, and a tarantula... Only if you come across any during your travels...

    Thanks Christina! :-)

I do have some pics of all of those creatures, except the tarantula, however I expect to see some in the cloud forest in Monteverde where I am going today. I really want to see the red eyed tree frog, but he is proving to be quite elusive at the moment! Will post some more stuff soon!

Thanks again for your kind words!
