Good and bad
I got this shot of a Stellar's Jay the other day and loved the pose and image quality. The background was not the best and ruined the picture making me reluctant to post it.
I had just finished setting up the perch in my backyard and went into the garage to get some brown mottled coloured tarp I have for a background that I was going to drape over the green one you see here that is hanging on my fence. While I was inside the bird of course landed on the perch for a visit then flew off. I was able to get a few frames and was very happy with that part but the bg really does not look very natural. oh well...another lesson learned

Re: Good and bad
It's a nice shot regardless of the background, which...could be swapped out
taking maybe five minutes in PS.

I agree with Chauncey Monte. Well worth the effort of replacing the background you are unhappy with, given the beautiful subject.

Hi Monte,
I would not worry to much about the BG. It might be different but it is not unpleasing. The bird stands out from the BG. It is a very good shot. Well done.
And please keep the backgrounds that you prefer hanging!
